The university thanks you in advance for supporting students and their families during Move-in Monday, Aug. 17 through Friday, Aug. 21, 2020.

Each year, the campus works to eliminate Move-in traffic impacts by limiting vehicles driving on campus. With less traffic entering and exiting campus, the plan has been successful. Issued in July, this CU Boulder Today article announced that Move-in 2020 will be based on students’ residence hall locations.

Permit holders, commuters and those using meter/pay station parking should plan for closures/restricted access to main campus parking lots Monday, Aug. 17 through Friday, Aug. 21. Make your plans now to use alternate transportation to get to campus or take advantage of alternate work arrangements. Complete and submit the Move-In Parking Request form if you have a "Critical Need" to park during the 2020 CU Boulder Move in.

  • Parking Services will issue permit holder email notifications identifying parking restrictions/closures in their parking lots.
  • Regent Drive and Colorado Avenue (east of the Colorado Avenue/Folsom Street intersection) will be restricted to vehicles displaying "Move-in" permits from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day Monday, Aug. 17 through Friday, Aug. 21, 2020.

How will this affect you?

If you normally drive to work or if you have meetings scheduled during Move-in dates, parking lot closures will require you to plan ahead. Following are alternative options to consider:

Vacation time

  • Check with your supervisor. If your job doesn’t involve Move-in, and you have vacation time, this may be a great time to take a break from work.

You might even wish to volunteer!

  • Join the tradition of welcoming students and families to CU Boulder by volunteering for Fall Welcome. Opportunities include helping students move in, navigate campus, engage in signature events and more.
