As a university, we’ve prepared ways for our campus and community to be safe. From navigating campus, to preparing your workplace environment, to taking public transportation, we’ve outlined some tips, guides and best practices to ensure the health and safety of our campus and community.
Building Health & Safety
Before entering a building, double check the following:
Larger buildings might have doors designated “Enter” or “Exit” only, to avoid congestion. Building occupants moving through corridors and hallways should stay to the right and avoid congregating. Signs will guide you on direction and circulation through the building.
Hygiene and Sanitation
When walking on campus sidewalks, please stay to the right side of the walkway to allow at least 6 feet from pedestrians walking in the opposite direction.
We have reconfigured classrooms to meet the new requirements for physical distancing, cleaning and hygiene. You can find details on COVID-19 mitigation efforts for campus buildings on the Infrastructure and Sustainability website.
Research and Labs
A range of resources and information about research and creative work operations, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and Venture Partners at CU Boulder is available on the Research and Innovation Office COVID-19 Resources page.
People are expected to keep at least 6 feet of distance in restrooms across campus. Please be mindful of the number of people inside a restroom and limit occupancy to ensure appropriate physical distancing.
Wash your hands thoroughly after each use to reduce the potential transmission of the coronavirus.
Unless otherwise indicated by signs, no more than four persons may enter an elevator at a time, so please use the stairs when possible. If you are using an elevator, wear your mask/face covering and avoid touching the elevator button with your exposed hand/fingers. Wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer upon departing the elevator.
Campus Dining and Markets
Retail markets, restaurants and cafes are open to the campus community with various payment options accepted. Dining centers, including Alferd Packer Grill and our grab-n-go locations are open only to residence hall students with meal plans. Most dining centers offer only take-out services. Everyone is expected to maintain at least 6 feet of physical distance at all locations.
Check with Transportation Services and local transit authorities for the latest information on changes to services and procedures.
When you park in a lot or deck, please be aware of those around you. Maintain at least 6 feet of distance from others when leaving or returning to your car. Always wear a face covering when on campus. Avoid touching your face. Wash your hands or use sanitizer as soon as you reach your destination.
