Support for Your Health and Safety Needs

Faculty and Staff

If your position requires you to be on campus, the university is committed to supporting your well-being during this time of transition. Those required to be on campus should support on-campus research, in-person teaching, health and welfare of students or the on-campus student experience. If you can work remotely, you should continue to work remotely to reduce the population density for those who are working on campus.

The COVID-19 HR Guidance page has information for all employee groups (faculty, researchers, staff, graduate students, student employees). Please send HR questions to HRMail@colorado.edu.

Health & Safety Compliance FAQs

It is often difficult to know what to do when someone is not following the current health & safety policy. You can find guidance in our health & safety compliance section on:

  • What to do if you see someone not wearing a face covering

  • How to hand a situation when someone isn’t physically distancing

  • Understanding your role as a supervisor or leader

COVID-19 Safety and Awareness Training

All CU Boulder employees resuming work on campus must take a COVID-19 Safety and Awareness training before returning. The course is designed to help you understand campus requirements and provide information on safety measures.

To access the Skillsoft training:

  1. Click CU: COVID-19 Safety and Awareness—CU Boulder
  2. Select the Boulder campus
  3. Log in with your IdentiKey to launch the training

You may also access the training by visiting mycuinfo.colorado.edu, select training from the menu, click on Skillsoft, then CU Boulder, then search for CU: COVID-19 Safety and Awareness—CU Boulder.

Faculty and Staff Daily Health Form

A daily health check is required for all faculty, staff and students each day you intend to be on the CU Boulder campus. The form must be completed before you return to campus. This form asks four brief questions related to COVID-19:

  • Symptoms
  • Temperature
  • Recent close contact with a probable COVID-19 case
  • Testing history

If you are displaying any of the symptoms or feeling ill, you should stay at home, fill out the questionnaire, consult with your primary care physician and notify your supervisor.

Your supervisor will work with your department HR or Employee Relations to make sure appropriate leave is offered. If you are concerned that a colleague may be ill, please reach out to your department HR or Employee Relations.

COVID-19 Health and Safety Policy

The Health and Safety Policy outlines measures critical to protecting both the campus as a whole and people at higher risk from COVID-19. It includes measures related to social and physical distancing, and campus density reductions; the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and enhanced cleaning protocols; and personal hygiene discipline.

The policy includes two sections:

  • Expectations for supervisors, department chairs and university officers

  • Expectations for faculty, staff, students and visitors

Where to Find Protective Equipment

The university has purchased a base package of personal protective equipment and cleaning supplies that includes:

  • Two reusable cloth masks for each of our faculty, staff and students who are on campus. More details on where you can pick up your masks can be found here.

  • Hand sanitizer stations and refills for all main building entrances and high-traffic areas.

  • Disposable disinfecting wipes for every classroom.

  • Spray bottles of disinfectant cleaning solution and paper towels for office spaces, labs or areas not routinely serviced by custodial staff.

  • Individual offices or departments may identify additional PPE needs or desire additional products such as small bottles of hand sanitizer for office spaces or service counters. Those items are not part of the campuswide base package and will need to be ordered by individual units or departments through CU Marketplace.
  • If you have PPE purchasing questions, email fmdc@colorado.edu for support.

As of July 15, 2020, the campus continued to work on logistics for a distribution process. You can find details and updates on the protection equipment guidance page.
