Although connecting with friends will be different this semester, there are still creative and fun ways to socialize while building and maintaining your community. We outlined four ways for Buffs to stay connected on weekends and throughout the semester, all the while adhering to health guidelines, avoiding large gatherings and protecting our herd.

Stay connected through shared interests

In-person

  • Join a student club
Even though clubs look different this year, we’re still offering ways to connect. Browse options at the Center for Student Involvement
  • Host a small study group
It may be that you and your classmates have similar interests. Gather together (10 people or fewer!) for small in-person study sessions while learning about each other and discovering shared interests.

Virtual

  • Virtual book club
Start a virtual book club with your friends near and far. You can grow your community and make new friends while sharing your favorite new reads. Here are some fun reads available through the University Libraries
  • Host a game night
Whether through e-games or board games, getting together in a small group setting to connect over your favorite game is a great way to maintain friendships while staying healthy and safe.
