Level up your career with a Certificate from CU's Technology, Cybersecurity and Policy Program - you will gain foundational knowledge and skills focusing on a specific technology. Students will learn best practices, tools, methods, and strategies that are immediately applicable to the work environment and emerging technologies or industries. Students should expect that certificates aid the development or enhancement of a specialized expertise. TCP certificates also provide the flexibility to allow course credit hours to be applied toward a TCP master's degree if students decide to further their education.

The Cybersecurity Certificate is available online, and both are available to CU students, non-degree students, professionals, educators - anyone is welcome!


  • Students working towards a certificate must either be current CU graduate students or be admitted through Continuing Education as nondegree students.
  • Students may not double count courses between multiple CU certificates.
  • In order to earn a certificate, students must receive a minimum grade of a C or higher in each course.  The cumulative GPA for certificate courses must be 3.0 or higher.


  • Affordable course options are available to nondegree students through on-campus or online courses.
  • Earn a professional certificate backed by 12 credit hours from the University of Colorado Boulder, unlike 0-credit-hour bootcamps offered elsewhere.
  • Go at your own pace by finishing the coursework requirements in as little as 1 semester or as long as 4 years.
  • Transfer 9 credits from TCP certificate programs towards a Master's of Science in TCP.
  • Make a career change into the cybersecurity and wireless domain, and show your abilities and motivation to industry.
