Public Health Undergraduate Student Ambassador Position
Job Posting: Student Ambassadors – Public Health Program
Job Description/Summary:
The Public Health Program is seeking enthusiastic and committed students to serve as Student Ambassadors. Ambassadors will represent the Public Health Program at official events, support outreach and recruitment efforts, manage departmental visibility through social media, and promote the values and opportunities of majoring or minoring in Public Health at CU.
In this job, students will develop their leadership, communication, event-planning, and digital media skills. They will gain valuable experience in outreach, public speaking, and teamwork.
Job Duties and Qualifications:
- Outreach & Representation
- Represent the Public Health Program at the Majors and Minors Fair, admitted students day, and during other important recruitment events.
- Share personal academic experiences with prospective and current students.
- Serve as an approachable point of contact for students with questions about courses, the BA in Public Health, the minor in Public Health, Public health professional Organizations/Associations, Public Health student clubs, and student life at CU in general.
- Departmental Support
- Assist faculty and staff in organizing Program events such as workshops, career fairs, and health-related activities.
- Provide feedback from the student body to help improve Program initiatives.
- Social Media & Marketing
- Manage and create content for the Public Health Program’s official social media pages.
- Promote events, student achievements, faculty research, and other program news through digital platforms.
- Help grow the program’s online presence in creative and engaging ways.
- Outreach & Communications
- Staff information tables at university fairs, events, and orientations.
- Engage in public speaking and ambassadorial duties on behalf of the Program.
- Assist in developing innovative ways of reaching and engaging students
- Logistics & Event Planning
- Support planning and execution of departmental events (most specifically the Capstone Symposium), including scheduling, setup, and coordination.
- Assist with registration, materials preparation, and attendee engagement.
- Ensure smooth logistical operations for both in-person and virtual events.
Examples of Duties:
- Attend recruitment events and answer questions about the major, while handing out Program swag.
- With faculty and staff, help organize, promote, and facilitate student events for Public Health Students.
- Taking photos and videos at student events that can be posted on our website or official social media pages.
- Manage tabling at the UMC for the Public Health Program.
- Communicate with Alumni and update our Alumni videos for the website.
Qualifications:
- Currently an undergraduate student enrolled in the BA degree in Public Health
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Passionate and knowledgeable about Public Health and its subfields
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
- Reliable, professional, and committed to representing the Program positively.
Number of positions available:
Varies per semester based on department needs.

Compensation
- Pay rate or range: $18.00/hr
Time Commitment:
- An average of 5 hours per week throughout the semester (varies by week and event schedule).
- Attendance at key program events is required. Some of these events may be on weekends or prior to or just after a semester.

Spring Semester 2026.
