Project Description

The associate works on a fundamental research project to develop electrical standards based on atomic spectroscopy. The work is part of the NIST on a Chip program. The work is mostly experimental and involves designing, building and testing this new type of electrical standard. Some of the key responsibilities include: fabricating small cells filled with Rubidium or Cesium, carrying out spectroscopic measurements on cells, investigating effect of electric and magnetic fields on spectroscopic signals, analyzing spectroscopy data, writing research papers and presenting work at scientific conferences.

Research Interests

Engineering optics and atomic physics for useful applications
