The 2017 Pathways to Excellence focused on a variety of skills and issues, allowing students to gain hands-on media experience while dissecting topics relating to social justice.
In advertising, students created campaigns for Back to Basics Kitchen. For their journalistic multimedia projects, students were placed into four groups and reported on:
- Social justice and food
- Social justice and race and identity
- Social justice and income inequality
- Social justice and the environment
- Social justice and women in STEM
Students also had the opportunity to work with 360 video technology and visit multiple news and advertising agencies such as 9News and TDA Boulder.
