School of Education

I am a PhD student in the Educational Psychology and Learning Science program in the School of Education. My interests vary widely and include discursive constructions of identity, the connections between theory and practice in teacher education students, informal learning, the Reggio Approach to early childhood education, and child development in general. My MA work focused on the discursive strategy used by a group of Reggio-Inspired educators to construct the Reggio-Inspired identity and change their practice. My dissertation work will focus on the ways in which future teachers linguistically construct the connections between theory and practice in both the university classroom and an after school program that follows the 5th Dimension model.
