Current MA Student
Department of Spanish and Portuguese

I am a new MA student in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. My current research interests are in history of languages, sociolinguistics, and bilingual education. More specifically, I am interested in how languages emerge, how they transform, how they disappear, and what is behind their different destinies, especially with respect to the Romance languages Portuguese and Spanish and their dialects. At CU Boulder, I am pursuing a general introduction to linguistics, anthropology, and languages as a whole, but my special interest is on the connection between the history of languages and (better) education. Prior to the study of Spanish Linguistics at CU Boulder, my educational and professional experience was in the fields of language education (English, Spanish, and Portuguese) and sports coaching.
