The Office of Faculty Affairs leads a workshop to help postdocs, faculty, and staff with difficult discussions, or crucial conversations.

Crucial Conversations is an opportunity for postdoctoral scholars to learn tools for talking honestly with nearly anybody about almost anything, included those situations which involve taboo topics, deference, disagreement, analysis paralysis, incivility, intimidation, office politics, alienation, slow productivity, or low morale. The two-day course teaches skills for creating agreement through open dialogue around high-stakes, emotional, or risky topics. Learn how to speak and be heard (and encourage others to do the same). It will be offered on two days: May 14 & 16 or July 30 & August 1. The cost is $250.
