Dissertation Title: Policy Responsiveness of the Supreme Court across Issue Domains
Dissertation Chair: Vanessa Baird
Dissertation Description: Using a combination of replication, newer data, and time series analysis, I explore whether the Supreme Court as a whole responds to shifts in public opinion both across and within policy issue dimensions. The findings mostly uphold previous work that concludes that the Supreme Court responds to shifts in global policy mood. However, its response is much more timely and more modest then past studies would suggest.
