As final exams are wrapping up, and commencements are close at hand, the University of Colorado Boulder Police Department would like to remind students of some finals week and move-out safety tips.

  • While moving out, make sure to take all of your belongings with you.  Anything left behind may be thrown out.
  • Do not leave valuable property unattended or accessible during move out.  Make sure valuable items are either with someone or locked in a vehicle out of sight.
  • If you are not taking classes in the summer, remember to take your bicycles with you.  Bicycles left in racks all summer may be impounded by Parking and Transportation Services.
  • Remember that although Colorado permits the possession of recreational marijuana for those over 21, the possession of marijuana is not legal in most other states.  If you are leaving the state with marijuana, make sure it is permitted not just in your destination state, but any other states you may cross en route to your destination.

Students are also reminded to be aware of suspicious persons or behavior during finals and move out week.  Students are encouraged to contact the CU Boulder Police Department (303-492-6666) to report any suspicious persons or behavior.

As a final note, the CU Boulder Police Department would like to say congratulations to the 2014 graduates, and wish you luck in your future endeavors.
