OVA’s mission is to decrease barriers and empower people who have experienced traumatic events. OVA Ask an Advocate is a way for CU Boulder students, graduate students, staff and faculty to briefly connect virtually with a confidential advocate counselor to consult and to see if OVA services would be helpful based on their experience. The chat’s goal is to broaden OVA's accessibility to the CU community and to provide an alternative means of connecting to resources.
No appointment is necessary. This is a free and confidential service. CU Boulder affiliates are seen on a first-come, first-served basis at various times throughout the week.
Ask an Advocate counselors can help provide insight, solutions and information about additional resources as well as information about one’s rights and options around traumatic experiences. People visit with questions about various processes and topics like Title IX, discrimination, sexual assault, intimate partner abuse, experiences of bias, harassment, stalking, assault and other crimes or traumatic experiences, that happened recently or in the past.
