Molly McDermott, MS, is a PhD student in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology interested in how natural and sexual selection interact in the formation of new species. She studies plasticity in sexually selected traits, including plumage and migration behavior, among Barn Swallow subspecies to better understand the origins of trait divergence. In addition, Molly regularly collaborates with artists to engage public audiences in scientific topics related to the conservation and evolution of migratory songbirds.
