The International Risk Committee (IRC) supports the implementation of the CU Boulder International Travel Policy and related rules and provisions.  The IRC reviews potential cancellation or suspension of education abroad programs when a Department of State Travel Warning or Center for Disease Control (CDC) Travel Alert has been issued, considers Travel Warning/Alert Suspension appeals, and addresses critical health, safety and security issues involving CU Boulder students, and the faculty and staff accompanying them on programs governed by the International Travel Policy.

The International Risk Committee (IRC) includes representatives of the following offices and departments: Risk Management, Legal Counsel, Dean of Students, CU Police Department, Provost, Education Abroad Committee, Strategic Relations and Education Abroad office. In addition, the IRC consults as needed with faculty and others on campus who have expertise in the locale of a crisis.
