MTNAThe Music Teachers National Association is a non profit organization whose mission is to advance the value of music study and music making to society and to support the professionalism of music teachers, 600 of whom reside in Colorado.  Among other activities, MTNA organizes an annual national music competition.

This year the first stage of the MTNA competition will happen at CU Boulder on October 15, all day. This event is open to the public. Approximately 40 students from the state of Colorado will be competing in different levels  and instruments. The final stage is scheduled during the MTNA national convention in New York City on March 24-28.

The regional stage of the competition is also scheduled at CU Boulder in January.
