Philip Taylor, Ph.D. is a research associate at the University of Colorado. His research ranges widely from climate change, ecosystem ecology, and solving sustainability challenges of industrial agriculture. He has diverse international experience in both private and public sectors, and led research and outreach campaigns throughout Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. He founded Mad Agriculture in 2015. Mad Ag makes profoundly sustainable animal feed by driving innovation in radical ingredients. Our core focus is raising insects on food waste that ultimately replace unsustainable ingredients, like soy and fish meal, in animal feed. Mad Agriculture is inspired by the Mad Farmer poems of Wendell Berry, which call for a re-imagination of the food system, rooted in ecological principles, whole economy, and community.
