The United Government of Graduate Students (UGGS) aims to improve the academic lives and general well-being of graduate and professional students. Some of the ways it does so are by offering grants for both individual travel and group events, hosting social events such as an annual picnic and karaoke nights, and especially by working with the administration to advocate for graduate student issues such as higher pay, health care benefits, parental rights, and more. UGGS is always open to suggestions for how it can better serve the community of graduate and professional students, so if you have an idea then come to a general assembly meeting or contact one of our department representatives. Information on assembly meetings, grants, social events, ongoing projects, and more can be found on the UGGS webpage.
