Community Assistant

The Community Assistant (CA) is a live-out position. The CA is responsible for facilitating a positive and welcoming community among residents, promoting a safe and comfortable living environment, and university representative and role, all while delivering exceptional customer service to all students and visitors at our community centers. There are some excellent benefits to this position including:

  • The ability to work in your hall or a hall close to where you live
  • Developing one-on-one communication and supervision skills
  • A CA’s compensation is hourly and starts at $12.32 per hour.

Night Community Assistant

As a night community assistant (NCA) you will work at the community centers (front desks) in the residence halls. You'll help with day-to-day issues like room lock-outs and checking out equipment, but also participate in and encourage community-building in your hall while focusing on customer service. There are some excellent benefits to this position including:

  • The ability to work in your hall or a hall close to where you live
  • Developing one-on-one communication and supervision skills
  • An NCA’s compensation is hourly and starts at $12.90 per hour.

Community Lead

As a Community Center Lead, you will be responsible for the administrative operations and management of the community center (front desk) under the direction of the community center coordinator. Benefits of this position include gaining valuable leadership and supervision skills while working in a large team environment. Duties of this position include:

  • Developing community-building initiatives
  • Providing guidance, training and mentorship to community assistants
  • Creating, facilitating and participating in staff development activities
  • Managing administrative tasks such as the room move process, scheduling, email management, equipment inventory and oversight of the temporary key process
  • Co-facilitate staff meeting with all community center staff
  • Starting pay is $13.00 per hour

Student Assistant

Student assistants provide administrative support to leadership in Residence Life. Duties include:

  • Providing customer support to visitors
  • Responding to email
  • Acting as phone reception
  • Starting pay for student assistants is $10.50
