Artificial skeleton & bones

Of special interest to students in the Integrated Physiology program, we have a variety of artificial bones available for checkout from our "Boneyard" (see the full menu or view the library catalog record). Each item (or set of items) checks out for two hours. These items are first-come, first-served and they cannot be renewed or reserved ahead of time. Stop by the Norlin East service desk to check out and return.

Colorado State Park passes

Borrow a Colorado State Park Pass, which allows entry of one vehicle into Colorado State Parks. Request passes via the library catalog; they circulate for one week from the Norlin East Service Desk. We ask that you wait at least a week after returning the pass before checking it out again in order to allow for broadest use of this resource. We have four passes; at time of checkout, please ask about availability of additional items (backpack, binoculars, guides and leaflets with supplementary information about Colorado wildlife and plant life). These passes are provided to us through the Check Out Colorado State Parks Program.

Hotspots

Our hotspots provide a portable Wi-Fi connection anywhere on the North American T-Mobile 5G and 4G networks, which includes most of the continental U.S. and Hawaii and parts of Alaska, Mexico and Canada. Current CU Boulder students, staff and faculty who have an educational need for a Wi-Fi hotspot can apply to check one out to your library account for a semester, including the summer session, with the possibility of renewal. If approved, you'll have ten days to stop by and check out the hotspot.  As a condition of enrollment in this program, you must complete a short survey about your hotspot use. You are responsible for the hotspot and any lost or damaged units may result in fines. Tech support for hotspots is offered by Campus OIT.  Apply for a hotspot.

iClickers

Students can check out iClickers for a semester at a time at the Norlin Library East Service Desk. iClickers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. After check out, you'll need to register the clicker (information is on the device and available online via the OIT iClicker website, which also offers tech support.)

For educators, OIT maintains information about the CUClickers program. If your classroom is not already equipped with a base station, kits are available for checkout from the Norlin East Service Desk and from OIT.

Students: do you have a working iClicker you no longer need?
The Libraries are happy to recycle it for future use. Drop off your iClicker at the Norlin Library East Service Desk and let us know that you are participating in our iClicker reuse program. Thanks for giving back to the Buffs community.

Materials Collection

The Materials Collection, housed at Gemmill Library, is a growing collection of a wide-selection of samples of sustainable, innovative materials used in construction, architecture and design.

Technology lending

Forgot your charger, headphones or other gear? Don't worry, we've got you covered. Ask at a service desk about phone chargers, laptop chargers, calculators and headphones – scroll down for details on types of equipment and their locations. All items circulate for four hours (renewals and overnight checkouts are not allowed).

We have additional audio-visual equipment and accessories available for checkout through our Multi-media Equipment Lending Library (MELL). Faculty and staff may reserve our Video Creation Station.
