The mission of the University of Colorado Boulder Libraries Rare and Distinctive Collections is to collect, arrange, preserve, and make accessible the collections of the University's history as well as rare and unique collections that support the University's administration, teaching, research, and service.


The vision of the University of Colorado Boulder Rare and Distinctive Collections is to connect students, faculty, and the community with significant primary sources and rare materials preserved in perpetuity, which document the life and cultural outputs of our and other vital communities.

Donations to Rare and Distinctive Collections to help us maintain these unique collections in perpetuity as robust, learning opportunities for students, scholars, and the wider community. We appreciate every gift, great and small. Your monetary gift can help provide a number of different resources including:

  • Acquisitions of new materials

  • Digitizing materials from the collection

  • Processing collections

  • Student fellowships and staffing

  • Community learning opportunities
