Barbara Losoff is the chemistry and life sciences librarian at the University of Colorado Boulder, where she has been employed since 1995. She received her bachelor's degree in Earth Science from Youngstown State University, a master's degree in Basic Science from the University of Colorado Boulder, and an MLS from Emporia State University.

As a science librarian, she has held positions at the USEPA, the US Bureau of Mines and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Her research interests include: the impacts of open access publishing on the academy, the librarian's role in developing institutional repositories, research data as part of institutional repositories, and the impact of e-science on library support services and collection development.
