Join the first Buffs One Read Book Club, focusing on the chapter “Honorable Harvest,” September 14 from 12 p.m. to 12:50 p.m. In this chapter of Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teaching of Plants, Robin Wall Kimmerer advocates that humans move past gratitude for the earth to a culture of reciprocity.
At these discussions, you will be asked to reflect on how our individual well-being is interdependent with the well-being of society and the environment. Attendees will learn to recognize opportunities to take positive environmental action that will cultivate well-being for ourselves, our local and global communities.
First-year students, pick up your free copy of this year’s Buffs One Read selection and join the campus discussion! Copies are available in the Technology Department of the campus bookstore.
