Place your course materials on reserve

It’s time to start working with the University Libraries to reserve your materials for Spring 2022 courses. Reserving assigned course materials through the Libraries provides affordable and more equitable access to scholarly resources that are often expensive or difficult for students to purchase. All material reserve requests can be placed online.

We encourage you to place e-books and streaming films on reserve to ensure your entire class has access to required materials. You can place your own physical copies of materials on reserve, or request that the Libraries purchase these materials in print or electronic formats. Physical materials can be made available to students at the library of your choice.

The Libraries will scan a book chapter or print article to be placed on Canvas. You can request this service through Interlibrary Loan.

It can take up to two weeks for the Libraries to have course materials ready for you, so get your requests in early. If you have any questions about course reserves, email If you have questions about other library purchases, your department liaison can help you.

If you are still selecting materials for your spring courses, you might also explore open educational resources (OER). The Libraries provide information about OER and resources for finding existing OER. Contact for support in identifying relevant OER for your course(s).
