Welcome back, Buffs! We hope everyone has enjoyed a healthy and happy winter break. As we move into the spring semester, the University Libraries remain committed to assisting you with your research needs during this period of remote instruction. Here’s what you need to know:
Borrowing Library Materials
CU Boulder affiliates can continue to check out library print materials using our contactless hold pickup service. Starting Tuesday, Jan. 19, patrons will need to pick up their requested materials in the Norlin Library’s east entrance lobby (near the Sundial Plaza) as the pickup location is moving from its current location in the west entrance.
Since August, students and faculty have utilized this service to borrow about 10,000 physical items.
Visitors will need a valid Buff OneCard to enter the building.
Fifty individual study seats will be available by reservation only in the Norlin Commons. Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 19, service hours are as follows:
- Monday - Friday: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Nine desktop computers (four Macintosh, five PC) can be reserved.
Reservations can be made in 45-minute increments for up to 135 minutes per request. Please bring a valid Buff OneCard to access the Commons.
Printing and Scanning
Starting Jan. 19, three printers will be available to students, faculty and staff in need of printing and scanning services during the Norlin Commons’ designated hours of operation.
You may print from the libraries’ computers as well as your personal devices.
Reservations are not required for print job pickups; however, you will need a valid Buff OneCard to enter the building.

The libraries maintain access to digital surrogates for 48% of books in our print collection, thanks to HathiTrust’s Emergency Temporary Access Service, and expanded access to nearly 100 databases and online resources.
Not finding what you need? Patrons may suggest the purchase of a library title not already held by the libraries.
