Geography Awareness Week was created by National Geographic to help Americans make effective decisions, understand geo-spatial issues and recognize their impacts as global citizens.

This year, the Earth Sciences & Map Library is celebrating with weeklong and daily events. Come to the library and celebrate with us!

All Week: Where in the World Google Earth Image Contest
Stop by the library to see images from around the world and guess the their location. Fill out your answer sheet and be entered to win a $50 Amazon gift card! Submissions due by Friday November 16 at 5 p.m.

Tuesday, Nov 13: Button Making Table
Come make an Earth Sciences themed button, or your own original creation. Button templates and a guide will be there to help you make your best button, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Earth Sciences & Map Library lobby. This event is hosted by the CU Boulder Geography Club.

Wednesday, Nov 14: GIS Day
GIS Day is a worldwide event that celebrates the technology of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Events kick off in Norlin E206 at 1 p.m.

Thursday, Nov. 15: Mapping Home/Collecting Truths – Exhibit Reception and Panel Discussion
Please join us at in the library at 3:30 p.m. Thursday for refreshments, an enthralling discussion and a chance to engage with CU students, faculty, and artists about their current work.
