The Earth Sciences Week LogoEarth Science Week is an international, week-long event to help the public gain a better understanding and appreciation for the Earth sciences and to encourage stewardship of the Earth.

This year’s theme is “Earth as Inspiration,” emphasizing artistic expression as a unique, powerful opportunity for geoscience education and understanding in the 21st century.

Mapping Home/Collecting Truths: Works by Indigenous & International Artists: This exhibition of prints by 35 artists reveals a wide variety of approaches to an invitation to express ideas of homeland, and its intersection with environment, climate, or other influences.

Tuesday 10/16: Earth Observation Day
Story Maps Workshop: In this workshop, Phil White, Earth Sciences Librarian, will guide participants through creating a Story Map using Esri's ArcGIS Online tools. 3:30-5 p.m. in the Benson Upstairs Study Room. Learn more and register!

Wednesday 10/17: National Fossil Day
Build a Fossil: Stop by and see an array of fossils on loan from CU Boulder Museum of Natural History, 10 a.m. to 4p.m. in the lobby.

Thursday 10/18: Geoscience for Everyone
