Join the fun as the University Libraries hosts their second International Talent Show Thursday, January 25, 7 p.m. in the Center for British and Irish Studies (Norlin Library, Fifth Floor). It will be a great show filled with music, songs and dances of different cultures, performed by CU students. Enter your talent now via the Talent Show Entry Form. Fifteen acts will be selected to perform for eight minutes each. Judges will selected the top three acts to receive the grand prize of $150, second prize of $100, and third prize of $75.

Last year's winner, a graduate student in aerospace engineering, performs a classic Indian dance, the Bharatnatyam.

Come enjoy a fun night of talent! Free refreshments will be provided.

Share a talent that highlights cultural diversity! Examples: Arabic singing, Baishou dancing, Haiku reading.

Rules and Guidelines

  1. Entry to the Talent Show is open to ALL CU Boulder students. 

  2. Registration begins October 10th.

  3. Register to enter by completing the Talent Show Entry Form

  4. Contestants will prepare an eight-minute routine including setup and breakdown. Performances are strictly limited to eight minutes. 

  5. Notification to the primary contact for each act will be by email on January 17th. Selected participants must sign a waiver prior to the show. Names of selected acts will also be posted on the CU Boulder Libraries Facebook page.

  6. A maximum of 15 acts will be selected to compete for the grand prize of $150, second prize of $100, and third prize of $75. Each prize is awarded per act, to be divided if there are multiple members of an act.

  7. No lip-syncing will be allowed.

  8. Audio equipment, microphones, and staging props will NOT be provided.

  9. Explosives or flammables, fireworks, fuels, lighters, sharp objects, toxic chemicals and weapons are PROHIBITED.

  10. The Talent Show will be held on Thursday, January 25th beginning at 7 p.m. and ending at 9:30 p.m. in the Center for British and Irish Studies, Norlin Library (5th floor). The general public including friends and families are welcome to attend. Admission to the show is FREE of charge. Winners will be announced at around 9:45 p.m. with light refreshments provided.

  12. The judges’ decisions are final.
