Five years ago a 9.0 magnitude earthquake struck Japan off the coast of the Tōhoku region. The quake and the subsequent tsunami led to the death of 15,000 people. 2,500 are still missing. University Libraries' Special Collections & Archives features three centuries of works that highlight the resilience of Japan in the face of tragedy and disaster.

The exhibit is free and open to the public weekdays from 10am to 4pm through July 8th in the Special Collections & Archives reading room (Norlin N345).

Curated by University Libraries Assistant Professor and Japanese and Asian Studies Librarian Adam Lisbon.

Closed 5/30 & 7/4.
