CU Boulder offers Proctorio for exam proctoring. Proctorio is a remote proctoring service software that works with Chrome web browser to monitor students for suspicious behavior (like plagiarism) in Canvas, our Learning Management System. There is no direct cost to the departments for this service, but it costs the University $5 per student per course (no matter how many quizzes/exams are set up as remotely proctored).
Proctorio Service Page (OIT)
OIT has resources for faculty and students on how to set up Proctorio within Canvas and what students need to know to successfully take a proctored exam.
NOTE: Proctorio will be retired by OIT on August 15, 2024
Proctorio's official website includes comprehensive information for faculty and test takers, including security, privacy, and FERPA information. Once you enable Proctorio in your course in Canvas, you will receive a welcome email from support@proctorio.com with a link to Proctorio Academy, their Canvas training course.
