How To Connect Your Device

Wolf Law classrooms support these connections:  HDMI, VGA, Mini DisplayPort, Micro HDMI, USB-C, Apple TV, and Wireless Display

THE QUICK REFERENCE INSTRUCTIONS SHOWN ABOVE ARE POSTED ON THE AV CONTROL PANEL IN EACH CLASSROOM.


Classroom Wired Connection

For wired connections to our system we have available an HDMI, VGA and Mini DisplayPort cables at each classroom podium. We also have Micro HDMI and USB-C Adapters tethered to the cables in each classroom.

-Each cable type is labled 
-For Reference: Older Windows machines will typically have VGA and sometimes HDMI depending on the age. Newer Windows and Apple laptops often have HDMI and/or Mini DisplayPort available. Some of the newest Apple and Windows machines only provide a Thunderbolt/Type C USB connection option. Wireless display options are available as an alternative.

Turn on the Projector: Press the Display (ON) button and give the system 30 seconds for the projector to warm up. 

Select your input option (your laptop screen may not display until the projector has finished warming up).

  • NOTE: If using USB-C or Micro HDMI adapter, press HDMI on the Control Panel

  • NOTE: If using USB-C adapter, insert adapter into laptop first, then insert the HDMI cable into the USB-C adapter

Connect your device to the Mini DisplayPort, HDMI or VGA Cable. 

  

Audio should automatically broadcast if you are using the Mini DP or HDMI cables. If you are using the VGA cable make sure the 3.5mm audio cable is connected to the headphone jack of your computer. Adjust the volume on the Control Panel using the dial.

Turn off projector once you are finished by pressing the Display (OFF) button on the control panel.

Apple Airplay

Turn on the Projector: Press the Display (ON) button and give the system 30 seconds for the projector to warm up. You may select your input option at any time but your image may not display until the projector has finished warming up.

For Apple devices we have Apple AirPlay available in each classroom. Select Apple TV on the control panel
-Note: Older Apple devices may not have the fuctionality to project wirelessly

Make sure bluetooth is enabled on your device. The device will not find the AppleTV without it

  

Open your AirPlay controller
​ - this is done either by clicking the projection icon in your taskbar at the top of your screen or by swiping up from the bottom of your apple device to access the menu. 

    

Wait a moment for options to load. You should see an Apple TV option titled Wolf ### corresponding to the number of the room you are in. Select the appropriate room

Your system will prompt for a passcode, this four digit passcode appears on the projector screen. Input this code.
-note: you system may only prompt for this code once or it may prompt each time depending on your system's configuration. the code changes each time a connection is attempted.

The display should connect after a few moments. Note: It can take 5~15 seconds for the system to recalibrate the display during which time either screen may flash or go black before the image stablizes 

Disconnect from Apple AirPlay by returning to your AirPlay options and selecting "Turn off AirPlay". Turn off projector once you are finished by pressing the Display (OFF) button on the control panel.

 

Wireless Display (WiDi)

Windows/Android Devices

For Windows and Android devices we have Miracast WiDi available. Select WiDi on the control panel
- Note: Older versions of Windows and certain Android devices may not have the functionality to project wirelessly

Open your device display settings and open your wireless display option
​- On Windows machines look for an option labled "Connect to Wireless Display"
- On Android devices look for an option labled similarly to "Cast" or "Mirror Display"

Wait a moment for available devices to load. You should see a display available labled Wolf ### Push2TV coresponding to the number of the room you are in. Select the appropriate option.

The display should connect after a few moments. Note: this connection can take as much as 20-30 seconds to connect. During which time either display may flash or go black while the image stablizes.

Disconnect from WiDi by returning to your display setting and selecting the option to stop projecting. Turn off projector once you are finished by pressing the Display (OFF) button on the control panel.

Troubleshooting Your Connection

If you cannot hear Audio:

  • Make sure the green audio cable is connected to the device headphone jack and not the mic jack.
  • Make sure the volume on both the Device and Classroom Speakers is turned up.
  • Make sure the AV Mute button is off (green light = off, red light = on).
  • Try adjusting the application volume

Using the Microphone

  • The microphone can be used whether the projector is ON or OFF
  • To turn mic ON- press button on the mic (green light means on)
  • Control mic volume with "MIC +" and "MIC -" and AV MUTE buttons (works even if projector is off)

Audio on Mac not working with MiniDP input?

  1. Click the apple in the top left corner and go to system preferences
  2. Click the sound icon
  3. Then click the output tab at the top of the page
  4. Select Epson
  5.  

If a signal is not auto-detected try the following steps:

  • Windows: Simultaneously press the Windows and P key, then select the Duplicate Option.

  • Mac OSX: Click the apple in the top left corner-> System Preferences-> Displays-> Arrangement-> Mirror Displays.

Blanking a Screen and Muting Sound 

(making the screen go "black" until you are ready)

  1. Blank screen- press the AV MUTE button (button will be green)
  2. Unblank screen- press the AV MUTE button again (button will be red)
