The University of Colorado Law School congratulates Justice Michael Bender on his appointment to the position of Chief Justice of the Colorado Supreme Court.  Justice Bender will be replacing the recently retired Mary Mullarkey, effective December 1st, 2010.  Justice Bender graduated from the University of Colorado Law School in 1967 and has served on the State Supreme Court since 1997, when he was appointed by Governor Roy Romer.  “We are delighted to have one of our alumni, and a stalwart adjunct professor, appointed to the post of Chief Justice,” said Dean David Getches.  “Justice Mike Bender has been a loyal alumnus and a model of professionalism.  We look forward to working with him in his new capacity.”
