This course will introduce you to new and emerging educational technology. You will explore the educational potential of the following themes through scholarly readings, interviews, explorations and lesson planning: virtual reality; augmented reality; Breakout EDU; Makerspaces; place-based language learning, and digital games integration. You will select an emerging technology, investigate its potential for language learning and present your finding in a final report and presentation. 6 week course (1cr): February 2 to March 16, 2019 ($495)
The goal of this course is to allow you to work on your own language proficiency. You will meet twice a week for 30 minutes with a nativespeaker of the language you teach via video conferencing. You will conduct 10 sessions total. Each week, you will listen back to your sessions and write short reflections as well as read and discuss readings related to the challenges of developing and maintaining oral proficiency with your instructor and classmates. LGTC 5040: Telecollaboration Theory

Telecollaboration refers to the practice of pairing students or groups of students to native speakers of the target language through video conferencing tools for the specific purpose of increasing their language and cultural proficiency.
