RPA Biology

My research is centered around replication protein A (RPA), a DNA binding protein essential for DNA replication and repair. Due to RPA’s wide range of functions, I am interested in understanding the relationship between its DNA binding characteristics and in vivo function. By using a variety of biochemical assays and structural analysis, we can better understand how RPA directs itself to fulfill its different cellular functions.

Other interests: When not doing research, Tom enjoys backpacking, skiing, and spending time with his dog, Luna. He is also an avid sports fan, with the Minnesota Vikings being his favorite team.
