In a new publication in the Journal of the American Chemical Society, Chica et al use electrons transferred from CdS nanocrystals to probe intermediate states of MoFe nitrogenase catalysis. This work, led by our collaborators at NREL, focuses on EPR signals from the [8Fe-7S] P-cluster, which mediates electron transfer to the enzyme active site and undergoes structural changes during catalysis.
