Blake has spent his career working as an entrepreneur in technology startups during which time he has made many international trips fueling his interest in foreign languages and cultures. He, his wife and three children are Texas transplants residing in Boulder where they enjoy the great outdoors, and activities afforded by life in the Rocky Mountains. Kim is a language and people person. Past career lives have included organizing conferences in Croatia and Bulgaria for USAID, business consulting for IBM, program management for Johns Hopkins University, radio production, and lots of volunteer work. Nils is a former international student who attended CU-Boulder's School of Engineering in the 1980s. He still remembers the warm welcome he received from his hospitality family through BFIS. Besides his European origins, Nils has traveled to South American, South East Asia, and Indonesia. Sally spent her working career in government service, retiring from the Colorado Civil Rights Division in 2010. She then was elected and served on the Colorado State Personnel Board for five years, retiring in June 2015. Over 20 years in Boulder, she and her husband, Jerry Gordon, have had several international exchange students living in their home.
