I received my undergraduate degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. There, I worked on a project researching optimal levee design in a changing climate. I also worked in a multidisciplinary research group at Virginia Tech studying the water quality and social effects of a pipeline installation. I continue to use my passion for optimization and multidisciplinary research in my current work where I model and optimize water resources and energy systems. Specifically, I am studying how we can apply multi-objective evolutionary algorithm optimization to integrated water resources and energy system models. This research will better inform how these systems are operated and designed.
