Steve Borenstein is an Unmanned Aircraft Systems Engineer and Pilot that deploys on IRISS field missions. He graduated with his BS from Colorado School of Mines in 1999 Computer Science and a minor in Electrical Engineering. Prior to starting at IRISS, Steve has held positions as a Senior Measurement Engineer for an oil and gas pipeline company, Controls Engineer specializing in water measurement, and Field Engineer specializing in remote high precision GPS installations for geophysical research. Steve has been flying RC aircraft since childhood, and earned his FAA Private Pilot certificate in 2006. He is currently pursuing his Masters degree in Electrical Engineering at CSM, with a focus on Robotics and Computer Vision.
