ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Update: See a video of the ice bucket dousing.

Pledge donors: Please remember to follow up on your pledge!

The first IPHY Colloquium of the semester was Monday September 8 at 12 noon in Gold A2B70. Prof. Chris Link presented his research on "What causes ALS?" ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) is also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.

After the colloquium, four of our faculty were doused with ice water, as promised in order to raise money in support of research to fight ALS. The person who made the largest donation for each professor was given the "privilege" of dumping the ice bucket on that particular professor!

The dousing took place at the Buffalo statue in the plaza just east of the Gold (MCDB) building and west of Folsom Stadium.
