ADA Compliance provides coordination for sign language interpreting and real-time captioning services for faculty, staff, students (for events and activities outside the classroom, including employment), and campus visitors. Interpreting services on the Boulder campus are provided by local agencies and all interpreters are certified with the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf. The ADA unit’s role is limited to scheduling captioning and interpreting services. Once scheduled, the event organizer is the one responsible for any necessary follow-up with the captioner/ASL interpreter.
ADA Compliance will attempt to fulfill all requests for interpreting and real-time captioning. Such requests must be made at least seven days in advance of the event. However, requests received less than two business days prior to the event cannot be guaranteed.
