Pronouns: she/her

Nayoung is pursuing a graduate degree in Environmental Engineering with Dr. Diane McKnight, with research focused on monitoring harmful algae blooms (HABs) using in-situ sampling and remote sensing. Her work seeks to preserve our water resources in lakes and reservoirs by studying the temporal, spatial, and chemical patterns of these blooms. Ultimately, this is to improve our public health! Nayoung received her B.S. degrees from the University of Texas at Austin in Environmental Science/Geology and Corporate Communications. She is passionate about bridging engineering/science and the community – especially in all things water related. Outside of research, she adores the outdoors from the subsurface caves to mountains.
