Community Surface Dynamics Modeling System (CSDMS)

Bio

I study controls on geomorphology and the development of stratigraphy in fluvial-deltaic systems.

My research seeks to answer the following questions: What controls the evolution of river-delta and coastline geomorphology? How is stratigraphy developed in modern fluvial-deltaic systems? I approach these questions by coupling field measurements, physical experiments, and numerical models. I am interested sedimentary in processes that span seconds to thousands of years, from grain-scale sediment transport to the generation of large-scale stratigraphy. I use insights from modern systems to inform coastal sustainability efforts and to elucidate the depositional history of sedimentary basins.
