Impact Design Initiative

What We Do

Workshops and Events Student Driven Impact Impact Design Fellows Faculty: In-Class Offerings Community Partners: Co-Create With Us

The Idea Forge's Impact Design Initiative provides students the opportunity to hone their skills by designing for social impact. With an emphasis on empathizing with users and understanding the broader context in which design solutions are implemented, the Initiative supports students through co-curricular workshops, introductory events and student-led design such as the Design for America student group. Additionally, students can become an Impact Design Fellow and advocate for design-based awareness and activities on campus. Students who participate will have the opportunity to connect to their local community, work closely with interdisciplinary peers, and expand their creative problem solving capacity. Outcomes include strong communication, project management, and leadership, all in service to and in partnership with the Boulder community. Faculty can request guest lectures and hands-on activities for topics related to human-centered design, ideation, and prototyping.
