Role at ICS/Research Interests:
Aly Fassett-Carman is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Research on Affective Disorders and Development (RADD) Lab. Aly’s research examines the impacts of life stressors on mood and the brain, and how neural, cognitive, and behavioral factors can alter these impacts. Aly hopes this line of research can lead to improved health and wellness, especially for teens, who are experiencing a high-stress period of life and continued cognitive and neural development.
Bio:
Aly completed her PhD at Brandeis University in the CoPE and SIM Labs, investigating how exposure to life stressors and our perceptions of these stressors relate to mood disorders. She also collaborated with the Banich Lab at CU to test how these aspects of stressful experiences relate to neuroanatomy. In addition to research, Aly taught an undergraduate course at Brandeis University on the neural and psychological effects of stress and multiple courses for adults at the Brandeis Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
