Advisor: Professor Andrews • Julia Kendrick is a Ph.D. student. She graduate summa cum laude with a B.A. in History from Middlebury College in 2017. She spent the 2015-16 academic year as a visiting scholar at the University of Edinburgh, where she was the recipient of the J. Williamson Memorial Prize for Scottish History. Her undergraduate work focused on the cultural identity of indigenous women in the early American South, as well as on 7th century Scottish monks' relationship with the environment. She is interested in the intersection of environment, race, and gender, and she plans to continue her research focused on the Souther United States.
