The Department of History is now accepting applications for the Ph.D. program in Asian History.

Students will be trained in Asian history broadly, but will be expected to focus on one or more of the following areas: late imperial or modern China; early modern or modern Japan; premodern South Asia; modern South Asia; modern Asia in transnational and/or transregional perspective.

Interdisciplinary work, with one or more of the approximately 80 faculty members across campus who research and teach about Asia, also is highly encouraged.
