If you are looking for information about the University of Colorado Boulder's all-campus commencement ceremony please see their website here: http://www.colorado.edu/commencement/
History holds its annual departmental commencement ceremony each Spring in the Mary Rippon Theater, an outdoor venue which is surrounded by the U-shaped Hellems Arts & Sciences Building.
Please note: History does not hold a departmental commencement ceremony in August or December. December graduates may participate in the following Spring commencement ceremony, and August graduates may participate in the previous Spring ceremony if they would like to do so.
The invitation, instructions, and a campus map with the location marked are posted below. (Note: you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view these files.) If you have questions after reading all the information posted below, please contact the department at (303) 492-6683 or email@example.com.
There is no limit on the number of guests you may bring, and you do not need tickets, however, graduating students are asked to contact the department at least two days in advance of the ceremony at the above email or phone number with their name and the number of people expected (including themselves) so we know how many attendees to expect. The amphitheater is mobility-device accessible from the southwest entrance near the CU Museum and Denison buildings, and from inside Hellems' first floor west wing via a ramp at the rear of the theater on the northwest side.
Many campus parking lots will be free to the public on the day of Commencement. There may also be some free parking on the streets surrounding the University, but be aware there is a strict 2-hour maximum limit on most neighborhood on-street parking and the area is patrolled regularly. There may be ADA accessible parking available in the CU Museum parking lot (#208). Contact Parking Services for more information regarding ADA accessible parking.
