Advisor: Professor Hammer • Abby Lagemann holds a B.A. in History and Teacher Education and an M.A. in European History. She is a Ph.D. candidate currently working on a dissertation entitled "Homecoming: The Decentralization and Reintegration fo English Soldiers, c. 1580-1630" which examines the societal impact of England's wars in the late sixteenth and early-seventeenth centuries. Her project focuses on the intersection of Reformation (and it's impact of poor relief), the so-called "military revolution," and the interaction between state and local government. Other research interests include crime and punishment, poverty, and legal history. 

Abby is a winner of the 2016-2017 Graduate Part Time Instructor Teaching Excellent Award, the highest teaching honor awarded to graduate student instructors at CU Boulder.
