A monitoring test indicates a virus was detected, and further diagnostic testing is needed in order to confirm whether or not you are positive for COVID-19.
Step 1: Receive email
You will receive an email from Medical Services if your monitoring test result requires a diagnostic test.
Step 2: Make an appointment and get tested
Students who have a positive monitoring test need to schedule an appointment to get a clinical diagnostic COVID test to confirm whether or not they are positive for COVID-19. Students can get tested on-campus at the following loaction:
- Public Health Clinic at Wardenburg Health Center
Students can schedule a clinical diagnostic COVID-19 test Monday- Friday at Wardenburg Health Center.
Step 3: Quarantine
While you wait for your diagnostic testing appointment and results, you will need to remain at home and limit all contact with others until you are able to obtain a test.
You should treat the period of time between now and when you obtain an clinical diagnostic COVID-19 test result as a strict quarantine. Under quarantine, you are still allowed to live with your roommate(s), go out for food and medically necessary trips. Wear a mask, maintain physical distancing and wash your hands often.
If you have a roommate or roommates
If you have a roommate or roommates, you should let them know they will need to quarantine as well. Once you get your test result, it will determine whether or not they will need to continue to quarantine and get tested. If your diagnostic test result is positive, your roommate will be contacted by a contact tracer regarding next steps.
Step 4: Monitor your symptoms
If you develop symptoms of COVID-19, contact a health provider immediately.
Seek emergency medical attention (Call 911) if you are showing any of the following symptoms:

Step 5: Receive test results
If you get tested at Wardenburg Health Center, you will be notified by Medical Services if you are negative or positive within 1-2 days.
